You just dont see enough of these now. Great looking Carrera 3.0. More pics please
I think the 5 blade design was meant to increase the engine temperature as it has less cooling effect. Te incxrease in temperature reduces emmissions. This was for the US market. The later fans had more blades and cooled the engine more. If your behind a carrera 3.0 the sound os the fan is quite distinct as compared to the later models. Its almost a supercharger kind of sound.
Great stuff. I've always loved the Carrer 3.0's. There the next big thing in aircooled 911's I reckon. Some big prices to come. Are you going to keep the engine fan. They have less blades than a 3.2 if I remember rightly, something to do with emmissions for the US and all that malarky.
The whole original versus modified is a big one and the debate can go on for hours. I think you have to go with how you would like it. Although having said that there are only a few RHD coupes in the world compared to the other early 911's. Given the rarity, I think the Carrera 3.0 will increase in value - so it might be worth erring on original??? Those little headlight washers for example are as rare as hens teeth and if you can find they are 150 euros each! Something to think about.
It was pearlescent white which looked amazing, however the factory colour is Talbot Yellow, back to original or not?
Nice Carrera 3.0. You dont see too many these days. They are becomming rarer and and rarer. Looking forward to seeing more pictures. Thanks for sharing.
